L'ATELIER D'ARTISTE PLUS .... SPACE AND PRIVACY FOR TWO COUPLES OR FRIENDS
Immediately next door to L'Atelier d'Artiste, and separated from the barn by a stone wall almost a metre thick, is a small building that was once a farm worker's cottage, now housing a double bedroom, shower room and sitting room. If you'd like to come on holiday with another couple or with a single friend, you can book the cottage as an add-on. Although the two buildings are normally separate and self-contained, there's a discreet door between the two leading from one corner of L'Atelier d'Artiste directly into the cottage hallway.
The cottage is quite different in feel and style from the main barn: light earth colours, natural paints and lots of art and photography on the walls reflect the simple country cottage it once was (though we've passed on the livestock that once occupied the ground floor).
There isn't a separate kitchen in the cottage, but the big kitchen/dining/living area in L'Atelier d'Artiste works perfectly well for up to four people, with plenty of seating, crockery, cutlery and glasses for all of you, and the kitchen is easily big enough for all of you to chop and cook together. Once through the doorway (to the right of the stairs in the photo below) the cottage hallway leads off on one side into a comfortable sitting room with a big Chesterfield sofa and two armchairs. There's lots of room to spread out and catch up with the news or a film: there's a television, DVD player and hifi in here. A small desk area/working space is tucked into one corner.
From the other side of the hallway, an elm staircase leads up to the landing and into a double-height bedroom with a double (140cm x 190cm), memory foam topped bed and two windows facing east to catch the morning sun. From here, a flight of stairs leads up to a large mezzanine room - a lovely calm space furnished with floor cushions and rattan chairs. Across the landing from the bedroom is the shower room, which has a tiled 90cm square shower with glass door, a contemporary wash basin on a tadelakt wall, and oak shelving for all your bits and pieces; the separate loo is opposite.
BOOKING THE COTTAGE
The cottage is only available as an add-on booking to L'Atelier d'Artiste, not on its own. Like L'Atelier d'Artiste it can be booked for a minimum of 7 nights, and by and for adults only (one or two people).
If you'd like to book the cottage alongside L'Atelier d'Artiste, please get in touch to check availability in the usual way. Once we've confirmed that both are available for your dates, we'll ask you and your friend(s) to complete two separate booking forms, one for L'Atelier and another for the cottage. Each couple (or person) will have a separate booking contract with us. We'll also ask you whether you prefer to pay your deposit and balance separately or together.
The price for the cottage in 2019 (for bookings made before 31 December 2018) is 475 euros for 7 nights and 925 euros for 14 nights.
JUST TWO OF YOU?
You're more than welcome to book the cottage as well if you fancy the luxury of having a second bedroom and (even more oodles of) space ... but if you're happy with one king-size bedroom you're certainly not going to fall over each other in L'Atelier d'Artiste ... Read more >>>
